Expedition Guide

Post Game

After every campaign battle, both players work through the Blighted Wilds Aftermath Sequence before their expedition is ready for its next battle.

Confirm the result, work through the Blighted Wilds Aftermath Sequence, then send the outcome to Jack so the Chronicle can be updated.

  1. 01.Resolve the Battle

Before you start the Aftermath Sequence, confirm the final result of the battle and resolve anything the battleplan still requires at the end of play.

    • Agree who won, whether the result is a major victory, minor victory, or draw, and any other outcome the battleplan uses.
    • Check the selected battleplan for victory conditions, Blighted Wilds Rewards, route discovery, and any other end-of-battle effects that must be decided before the aftermath.
    • Use the battleplan’s Wahapedia entry from the Chronicle map when you need the full write-up rather than guessing from memory.

Some plans define their own victory conditions. Others use victory points, with remediation deciding a minor victory on a tie. Check the plan you just played.

  2. 02.Earn Glory Points

Glory Points are the first step of the Aftermath Sequence. Record them on your Path to Glory roster. Achievements are cumulative, and the amount depends on the points value of your opponent’s army.

    Opponent army 1,000–1,250 points

    • Fought a Path to Glory battle110 GP
    • Won a major victory40 GP
    • Won a minor victory30 GP
    • Your general was not slain15 GP

Most games in this campaign sit in this band while expeditions are still near 1,000 points. If your opponent’s army is outside it, use the full Glory Points table on Wahapedia.

Add every achievement that applies. Fighting the battle always counts, then add victory and general bonuses where they apply.

  3. 03.Gain Renown Points

Award Renown to the units that took part, then check whether any unit has earned a new Path rank.

    • Each unit that took part and was not destroyed gains D3 Renown Points.
    • Each unit that took part and was destroyed gains 1 Renown Point.
    • Pick 1 unit that took part to be your Favoured Warriors. That unit gains D6 Renown Points. You cannot pick your general.
    • Units can also gain bonus Renown from using Purify the Land during the battle.

    Paths and ranks

    • Non-UNIQUE units can embark on Paths. Ranks unlock at 5 (Aspiring), 15 (Elite), 30 (Mighty), and 45 (Legendary) Renown Points.
    • When a unit first reaches 5 Renown Points, choose its Path and pick 1 of the 2 Aspiring abilities.
    • Each later rank lets you pick 1 of the 2 abilities for that step. Ranks must be earned in order. Legendary is the last rank.
  4. 04.Manage Your Path to Glory Roster

This step changes your persistent Expedition roster. You are not writing a one-off army list for the next game.

    • Promote a Hero to lead their own regiment.
    • Expand your army: add 1 Landmark of Ghyran if you do not already have one, and either add 1 new unit or reinforce 1 existing unit. You cannot add and reinforce in the same aftermath.
    • Retire units or a faction terrain feature, receiving glory equal to half their points value.
    • Manage enhancements, including transferring artefacts of power between eligible Heroes.
    • Change your general, following the Usurped rules.
    • Change a unit’s Path, reducing its rank by 1 and resetting Renown to the minimum for the new rank.

You can have a maximum of 5 regiments on your roster. New units and reinforcements cost Glory Points equal to the unit’s points value.

  5. 05.Tend to Battle Wounds and Battle Scars

Work through the wounded units on your roster in this order. Untreated Battle Wounds can become Battle Scars that stay with the unit.

    1. Heal resting units: each resting unit heals D6 Battle Wounds.
    2. Determine Battle Wounds: each destroyed unit suffers D3 Battle Wounds. Each unit within 3" of a contaminated terrain feature at the end of the battle suffers 1 Battle Wound. Stalled reinforcements destroyed for never arriving do not suffer Battle Wounds.
    3. Determine Battle Scars: Serious at 5–8 Battle Wounds, Severe at 9–12, Critical at 13–17. At 18+, the unit succumbs and is removed from your roster. The first time a unit gains each scar type, roll on that scar table. A unit can only ever have 1 of each type.
    4. Heal Battle Wounds: pick up to 2 Heroes to attempt a healing ritual. Roll a dice for each. On a 1 the ritual fails and that Hero becomes drained until the end of your next battle. On a 2+, remove that many Battle Wounds from one unit on your roster.

Battle Scars are not removed when you heal Battle Wounds unless a reward says otherwise.

  6. Campaign rule

    06.Report Your Battle

This reporting step is a Blighted Wilds campaign administration rule. It is not part of the published Games Workshop Aftermath Sequence.

After you have finished your tabletop aftermath, send the result directly to Jack via WhatsApp DM.

Do not post battle results in the main WhatsApp group.

    • Include who played, which battleplan was played, the result or winner, and any outcome that changes campaign progression or your position on the Chronicle map.
    • Keep it short. Jack only needs enough to update the campaign record.

    Round complete

Once your aftermath is done and the result is with Jack, your campaign battle for the current Round is complete. Wait for the next Round to begin before playing another campaign battle. Each Round is expected to last roughly one month.
