Plate IX
Expedition Guide
Winning
The expedition through the Blighted Wilds leads to one final battle. Reaching it is not enough. You must win it decisively to claim the campaign.
Progress through the Wilds, unlock the final battleplan, then win it outright. Reaching the source is not the same as claiming it.
01.Reach the Source
Expeditions progress through the branching Blighted Wilds by completing battleplans and advancing across the campaign map on the Chronicle.
- Your goal is to reach and unlock the final battleplan: Be It Purity or Putrescence.
- Unlocking that battleplan does not win the campaign. It only puts the source of corruption within reach.
02.Win the Final Battle
The campaign ends when a player achieves a major victory in Be It Purity or Putrescence. Getting there first is not enough. You must play the final battleplan and win it decisively.
The first player to achieve a major victory in Be It Purity or Putrescence wins the Blighted Wilds campaign.
- You do not win by having the most victories, Glory, or Renown.
- You do not win merely by unlocking or reaching the final battleplan first.
- If you play the final battleplan and do not achieve a major victory, you have not won the campaign.
03.Claim the Blighted Wilds
The victorious player earns the official campaign rewards from the Blighted Wilds rules.
- Record the Blighted Wilds trophy on your Path to Glory roster.
- Your army gains Purifiers of the Blighted Wilds for future Path to Glory campaigns: Once Per Battle (Army), Your Hero Phase. Effect: Heal (3) each friendly unit.
- As the Be It Purity or Putrescence reward, remove D6 Battle Wounds from each friendly unit, then pick one friendly unit and remove 1 of that unit’s Battle Scars.
What Happens Next?
Your victorious expedition has completed its journey through this campaign. With the source of corruption destroyed, those warriors are ready for their next adventure. Their Path to Glory is not yet over, and Purifiers of the Blighted Wilds travels with them into future Path to Glory campaigns.
