Warhammer: Age of Sigmar 4th Edition

A Path to Glory Campaign

The Blighted Wilds

In the Blighted Wilds of Thyria, the wilderness of Ghyran is being corrupted. Commanders are preparing expeditions into the Wilds. Glory waits further in. So does whatever has been feeding on it.

Why play Path to Glory?

This isn’t a sequence of disconnected games.

You begin with a 1,000-point expedition and follow the same warriors through the Blighted Wilds. They gain Renown, learn new abilities, suffer lasting injuries, discover strange artefacts and grow into an army shaped by the battles you’ve actually played.

Surviving units gain Renown, rise through ranks and acquire new Path abilities as their reputation grows.

Create a unique Landmark for your expedition, complete with its own characteristics, curator and abilities.

The verge is stirring. These brave commanders have already declared for the Wilds — the first to step toward Thyria, and whatever is waiting further in.

How the Campaign Works

Every battle changes your army and your journey through the Blighted Wilds.

You don't need to play every week or keep pace with everyone else. When you're ready for a game, find another commander, work out which battleplan you'll fight, muster a force from your Path to Glory roster, and play. Afterwards, both players resolve what happened to their armies and continue their expeditions.

  1. 01.Find an opponent

Arrange a game with another commander in the campaign. Your expeditions don’t need to be at the same point in the Wilds.

  2. 02.Determine your battle

Use your progress on the Path Through the Blighted Wilds to determine which battleplan you’ll play.

Your progress through the Wilds affects the battles available to you.

  3. 03.Muster your army

Choose the force you’re taking into battle from your Path to Glory roster.

Your roster is your persistent campaign army.

You don’t necessarily take every unit you own into every battle.

  4. 04.Fight the battle

Play the battleplan as a normal game of Age of Sigmar.

The result matters beyond simply who won. Your performance can affect your rewards and the routes available to your expedition.

  5. 05.Face the aftermath

After the battle, update your Path to Glory roster.

    • Earn Glory

Gain the campaign currency used to develop your force.

    • Gain Renown

Surviving warriors become more experienced. As units rise through the ranks, they can gain new Path abilities.

    • Tend your wounded

Battle Wounds can linger, and sufficiently battered units can suffer lasting Battle Scars.

    • Develop your force

Spend Glory, add or reinforce units, and manage your growing roster.

    • Claim your rewards

Your battleplan and result can grant additional campaign rewards.

    • Continue your expedition

Discover the routes now available to you and choose where you’ll venture next.

The campaign record

The Chronicle

This is where campaign results are recorded.

After each battle, the Chronicle will list the commanders, the battleplan, the result, and what followed for each expedition. Until the first game is played, the ledger stays empty.
